Description
Core Combat Loop
In Stellar Guardian, players control a spacecraft from a top-down perspective, facing waves of hostile ships and large boss encounters. The mouse serves as the sole input device for movement and firing, with left-click launching projectiles at approaching targets. Each wave increases in difficulty, requiring quick reflexes and precise aim to survive. After clearing a wave, players receive currency based on their performance, which can be spent on upgrades between battles.
Upgrade System & Ship Customization
The in-game shop offers a range of improvements for the player's vessel. Rockets can be enhanced for greater damage, while defensive attributes like hull strength and shield capacity can be increased. Currency earnings can also be boosted, allowing for faster progression. This system lets players tailor their ship to match their preferred play style, whether focusing on aggressive offense or resilient defense.
Special Abilities & Tactical Options
Three distinct abilities provide tactical depth during combat. Fast Fire increases the rate of fire for a short duration, helping to clear dense groups of enemies. Endless Freeze slows down all enemies on screen, giving players breathing room to reposition or focus on a priority target. Meteor Call summons a powerful area-of-effect attack that damages everything within its radius. These abilities are activated via keyboard keys and have cooldown periods, requiring strategic timing for maximum effect.
Progression & Achievement System
The game features 15 achievements spread across Easy, Normal, and Hard categories, encouraging repeated play to master each difficulty level. Completing all waves on higher difficulties unlocks these achievements, providing long-term goals beyond simple survival. This structure gives players clear milestones to work toward, adding replay value as they refine their strategies and upgrade paths.
Audio & Visual Customization
Players can adjust audio and music volume independently through the options menu, allowing them to create a personalized sound environment. The top-down visual style keeps the action clear and readable, with enemy ships and asteroids easily distinguishable against the space backdrop. This design choice ensures that players can focus on gameplay without visual clutter, making the experience accessible to newcomers and veterans alike.
